About Feeding Minds, Fighting Hunger

Feeding Minds, Fighting Hunger,” is a global education initiative designed to prepare and encourage young people, and their leaders and teachers, to become actively involved in helping create a world free from hunger and malnutrition. Developed as one of many efforts being undertaken worldwide to fight hunger, the initiative is based on the belief that widespread hunger and malnutrition are unacceptable in a world that has both the knowledge and the means to end these devastating problems. By creating greater awareness and understanding of the causes and consequences of hunger, malnutrition and food insecurity, Feeding Minds hopes to arm and motivate young people to seek ways to help solve and prevent these problems.

Launched on World Food Day 2000, Feeding Minds originated with a set of three basic lessons on hunger and food insecurity, Since then, it has grown to include many new materials for use both inside and outside the classroom. Responding to the interest and enthusiasm created in 10 years of operation, Feeding Minds continues to expand, becoming a portal for youth-oriented information on a variety of topics related to hunger and food security and providing resources and opportunities for young people to get involved.
