GuineaParticipants from Guinea attended the Inter-Country Workshop on "Feeding Minds Fighting Hunger (FMFH)" organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), through its Associated School Project Network (ASPnet), and in collaboration with the Mali National Commission for UNESCO. The workshop was held in Bamako, Mali at the Research Centre for Solar Energy from 29-31 July 2002, with educators from, Burkina-Faso Mali, Niger and Senegal, along with Guinea, attending. The objectives of the workshop were to discuss the use and appropriateness of the FMFH teaching materials, as well as to examine possible ways to promote the initiative and incorporate the lessons in the national curriculum of each of the participating countries. It was agreed that all participants, Guinea included, would take part in a sub-regional pilot study by using and evaluating the FMFH lessons in the academic year 2002-2003 in 6 selected APSnet schools - 2 primary, 2 intermediate and 2 secondary. The results of the pilot project will be used to modify and adapt the materials according to local circumstances. |
