Senegal
Educators from Senegal participated in the inter-country workshop on "Feeding Minds Fighting Hunger" organized by FAO and the UNESCO Associated School Project Network (ASPnet) in collaboration with the Mali National Commission for UNESCO in Bamako, Mali 29-31 July, 2002. Participants from 4 other countries - Burkina-Faso, Guinea, Mali, and Niger - attended the workshop, whose objectives were to discuss the use and appropriateness of the FMFH teaching materials, and to identify ways to promote the initiative and incorporate the lessons in national curriculum.
All participants agreed to take part in a sub-regional pilot project using the FMFH lessons in the academic year 2002-2003 in 6 selected APSnet schools - 2 primary, 2 intermediate and 2 secondary- in each country. The results of the pilot project will be used to make suggestions for modifying and adapting the materials for local circumstances.
